Join a competitive team
Macclesfield Tennis Club has a large number of teams, allowing for many members to play and experience matchplay tennis.
In the summer, the club plays in the North East Cheshire Lawn Tennis League, and has three men's teams and five ladies' teams (6 players per team). As such there is the opportunity to play competitive inter-club tennis at various levels. Summer match play starts in April and runs until the end of July each year.
Winter match play takes place from the end of September until the end of March.
Macclesfield Tennis Club runs teams in the East Cheshire Winter Tennis League. Teams are mixed, consisting of two men and two women.
A match comprises a men's doubles, ladies' doubles and two mixed doubles matches, each of two sets. The 2017/18 season finishes at the end of March 2018.

How to get on a team
The summer league match practices and team selection start in March. If you are interested in playing in the teams, please speak to the club captains directly on the contact details below.

Men’s nights will continue on Thursday evenings from 7.00pm, with the emphasis being switched to team selection and practice for the summer league. In addition, men's practice will also be held on Sundays commencing Sunday, 18th and 25th March starting 4.30pm, (there is no practice on 1st April - Easter Sunday) and continuing on Sunday, 8th April starting at 6.30pm.

Tuesday night Ladies'
summer practice will start on Tuesday 6 March at 6pm for teams 3, 4 and 5 and
8.00pm for teams 1 & 2. Anyone who hasn't played for teams before or
is new should come to whichever they feel would be most appropriate and
captains can direct from there.
