"Turkey Trot" American Tournament 

Sunday 3 December is the "Turkey Trot" American Tournament.  1.15 for 1.30 pm start and is followed by a bring and share tea - savouries and cakes or whatever you choose to bring.  Look forward to seeing you there.

Bring & Share Christmas Lunch
Friday 15 December

This is the traditional Bring & Share lunch for Tues/Friday morning tennis.  Everyone is welcome, even if you're not a regular at the Tues/Fri sessions.  Tennis starts about 9.30 and lunch will be about 12.30.

End of an era at the Club

After 27 years at the helm Chairman Frank Gay has decided to retire.  Those years have seen major change and development for the club, with a move away from the Victoria Road site to new-build courts and clubhouse within the Learning Zone on Park Lane.  Frank’s hard work and commitment has helped build the club into a thriving tennis hub with several club play sessions every week for adults, and a regular and popular junior session on Saturday mornings.

At the club’s recent Annual General meeting members showed their thanks with the presentation of an engraved brandy glass (complete with a nice bottle of cognac, naturally) and a cheque.  For his dedication and achievement in promoting tennis in Cheshire, Frank also received an “Unsung Hero” award from the Lawn Tennis Association, which was presented in a separate ceremony at Chester Racecourse.

New chairman Martin Todd was formally elected at the meeting, following which members enjoyed cheese and wine and a celebratory cake.

As for Frank, he isn’t going anywhere, and he plans to use the cheque to buy a new tennis racquet so that he can continue playing the sport he loves.
