The club has seven courts and two mini-tennis courts, making it one of the larger clubs in the area. With court facilities like these you'll never have to wait long to get on court and start knocking up!
Artificial grass courts
There are six all-weather artificial grass courts, four of which were resurfaced in 2008.
These newer courts grip the ball better and allow for more spin and for a slightly slower game, if such a thing can be had on grass!
The two other artificial grass courts have a longer pile and play with a slightly lower, faster bounce. These courts are suitable for those who still fancy a bit of 'serve and volley'!
Mini tennis is the game of tennis modified for younger players, in which all the tactics of the real game can be learned and used. It uses smaller rackets and courts and special balls. And it's great fun too!
There is one acrylic court (hard court). This is the court of choice for the ATP and WTA tours and is designed to give a consistent, medium fast bounce. The US Open and Australian Open are both played on this surface, which lends itself to all styles of play. This court is ideal for the development of performance players.
Three of the artificial grass courts are floodlit, which means they can be used up to 10.00 p.m. all week long. During winter, these are a lifesavers for the club's hardcore players. The use of the floodlights costs £2.00 per court for the evening club play sessions.
